“Perì Archôn (De principiis) is one of the main works of Origen and undoubtedly the more controversial one. Through centuries, this work has been the center of Origenist controversy. Its original Greek text is lost. Nevertheless we know the content of the work through a complete Latin translation and many Greek and Latin fragments. All these text have been transmitted by opponents or by followers of Origen. This situation presents many challenges to editing the text, because there is no «neutral» witness. The lecture intends to examine these challenges.” The seminar is open and free of charge.
